London. The fifth convention of Panchthar Tharpu Samaj UK was concluded on Sunday, April 10th. The convention has unanimously elected a new working committee under the chairmanship of Khushi Limbu. Yuvraj Mabo Vice President, Yogendra Bikram Tawa Secretary and Ky. Birendra Kambang is joint secretary. Similarly, Bimala Limbu and Rico Tawa were elected as Treasurer and Treasurer respectively.
Nand Kumari Sundas, Bhim Tawa, Chandra Kumari Tawa, Indra Kambang, Devi Timsina, Surendra Kambang and Nayan Tawa have been selected as members.
The election committee consisting of Chandra Bahadur Sundas as chairman, Mohan Mabo as member and Man Kumar Kambang as secretary has unanimously elected all the positions unopposed.
The newly elected president Khushiman Tawa thanked the election committee and outgoing working committee for unanimously selecting him and his team.
The first session of the convention held at the Empire Hall in Aldershot was chaired by the outgoing president of the society, Tilbikram Tawa, and the operating secretary, Yuvraj Mabo.
During the first session of the pre-election session, secretary Yuvraj Mabo presented the annual report and treasurer Bimala Sigu presented the financial report. After the senior members of the society expressed their greetings, the chairman Tilbikram Tawa formally dissolved the working committee. During the closing ceremony, President Til Bikram Tawa thanked everyone who helped to make his term successful.
Panchthar Tharpu Samaj UK was established in the year 2010, a joint organization of households currently residing in the UK, originating from the old Tharpu area of Panchthar district. The society has been helping in education, health disorders and other areas of social welfare in its native land of Panchthar.
